We love bicycling as a lifestyle, culture, and sport. We love to ride, build, restore, oggle and sometimes race bicycles. We also love to talk on at great length about our ideas, opinions and exploits involving all of the above. Welcome to our BLOG!

Abandon Your Car is not a slogan or ideology so much as a reminder to all of us to get away from our petro-mobiles as often as we possibly can and embark on life as an adventure by bicycle.

We'll keep you current on the important road and trail beta from our home bases in Palisade and South Routt, Colorado and shower you with our .02 cents about the ongoings of bicycle tribes the world over.

Be sure to tune in for Danny, AKA: the Young Apprenctice, providing the ever important perspectives of a highschool bike geek and all around brainiac in his NORCAL Updates.

We're glad you're here- look around, drop the Bike Master a line and then get out and ride for awhile- you'll be glad you did!

A Little Late...

...as per usual on this end of the country - finals are fast approaching and the annual Thanksgiving feast left me in a bit of a daze.

Anyway, Thanksgiving is pretty much my favorite holiday in existence. My brothers come home from college, my extended family comes from all over, and of course, there is always an abundance of delicious food including several apple desserts.

But there was a notable difference this year - and that was the arrival of some sweet pieces to finish up my 29er. And even the notable difference had a notable difference...I had been expecting the arrival of a Soma Juice frame, when the bikemaster pulled a limited edition IMBA Niner MCR out of the hatch...and here it is built up in its bling-tastic glory:

A custom paint scheme was drawn up by Chris Weber in an initiative for Niner to support IMBA. The map on the top tube denotes a trail worked on by IMBA in the rockies, the down tube a trail in Vermont, and the seat tube a trail in my very own state. Apparently, only 26 of these frames exist including the one belonging to Niner's owner, Chris Sugai.

The bike is built with a 3x10 Shimano Deore XT drivetrain, and once I started going on this project, I ended up acquiring some really stellar stuff to make this the best build I could ask for. Been riding it since I built it, and did my first night ride with just this Wednesday.

Many thanks to Velocity, my coworkers Matt Laprade and Chris Marcoux, and, of course, my Aunt Jen and Uncle Dave. Now it's time to ride!
