We love bicycling as a lifestyle, culture, and sport. We love to ride, build, restore, oggle and sometimes race bicycles. We also love to talk on at great length about our ideas, opinions and exploits involving all of the above. Welcome to our BLOG!

Abandon Your Car is not a slogan or ideology so much as a reminder to all of us to get away from our petro-mobiles as often as we possibly can and embark on life as an adventure by bicycle.

We'll keep you current on the important road and trail beta from our home base in Palisade, Colorado and shower you with our .02 cents about the ongoings of bicycle tribes the world over.

Be sure to tune in for Danny, AKA: the Young Apprenctice, providing the ever important perspectives of a college-bound bike geek and all around brainiac in his NORCAL Updates.

We're glad you're here- look around, drop the Bike Master a line and then get out and ride for awhile- you'll be glad you did!

# 100

this is the 100th post on ABANDON YOUR CAR. not all of 'em were mine, so many additional thanks are due to Jen and the young apprentice, Danny. (as a side note, Danny will unfortunately not read this, as he is so beat down and whipped from training for our upcoming Kokopelli's trail ride, he can only collapse into a heap instead of wasting those valuable hours on the internets anymore...)

i would also like to thank the loyal, world-wide viewers who drop in on a regular basis- or just once, for that matter.
the editorial staff here at ABANDON YOUR CAR will continue working 'round the clock to bring you cycling-related stories of interest from western Colorado and around the world, race information, photos and results, insigthful commentary and advice, as well as the latest, most up-to-date, on-the-ground Fruita USA trail (and road) report available anywhere. we're out there most every day and are also well in tune with a network of other locals who are riding the regional hot spots as well. we will also be posting information about local trail building work sessions and advocacy events. not just talkers, you will actually see us out there working the picks & shovels as part of our contribution to making America a better place to ride.

when he is not busy maintaining his 3.95 gpa or training his legs off, Danny will be our on-location NorCal correspondent bringing our readers the fresh perspective of a young enthusiast about to be mercilessly tossed off the deep end of his burgeoning cycling career by his aunt & her boyfriend in Colorado. yes, he's coming back to the mountains for his 2nd installment of the infamous bikemaster's death march training camp, as well as the Kokopelli's ride in June.
by July, he will either be going fast as stink, or be wishing that he chose a life of petty juvenile crimes... because summer school at Oaktown gladiator academy would be Club Med by comparison.
it also sounds like he has secured an entry-level position as shop grom & (*deleted*) for the summer...
at any rate, it should make for some real interesting reads and big laughs around the campfires for years to come. good stuff on tap, for sure.

so thanks again for stopping by. please stay tuned for lots more stories, photos and velo-culture lifestyle from the definitive source on Colorado's western slope:
